Sin has now been judged and the old world has passed away with a fervent heat (II Pet. 3).The promise that all things shall be made new finds its greatest reality here. We get in this chapter a rare look over the precipice to see the things that God has prepared for them that love Him. No eye hath seen them but here the Spirit of our God has revealed them to us (I Cor. 2:9, 10). As I study this subject my eyes get a little misty as I think about the eternal abode here touched on in the language that we can comprehend. Knowing that the words fail to speak of the true reality we rejoice therein. There are three divisions of this chapter of which we must speak; the eternal reward, the eternal city, and the eternal fellowship. Each of these gets closer and closer to the Holy of Holies where mankind dwells in the Light of God’s presence forever and ever. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
